and NBC are giving it the old college try on Emmy night, putting the
finishing touches on a custom advertising showcase featuring the cast
of Community and the
2011 Infiniti QX sports utility vehicle.
As
the official automotive sponsor of the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards,
Infiniti will be the focus of three NBC-produced vignettes set to air
during the network’s August 29 broadcast. Decked out in their Emmy
finery, the gang from Greendale will make their way to an after-party
in a new
Infiniti QX.
When viewed in succession, the vignettes will unspool like a fun-size episode of NBC’s Thursday night comedy.
Per terms of the deal,
Infiniti will
supplement the custom spots with a traditional media buy across NBC’s
live coverage of the red carpet entrances (7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. EDT) and
the awards show itself (8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. EDT).
In addition to appearing on-air, the vignettes also will be distributed on social media platforms, via a special NBC.com widget.
“We’re
extremely pleased to partner with Infiniti for this exciting event,”
said Jim Hoffman, senior vp, sales & marketing, network
entertainment for NBC Universal. “By working closely with our client,
our creative teams and the amazing and talented cast of Community,
we’re able to organically showcase the new Infiniti and its message of
modern luxury in a way that’s entertaining and engaging to our
audience.”
Community stars Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Gillian
Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Donald Glover and
Ken Jeong. The ensemble comedy returns for its sophomore season on
Thursday, Sept. 23 at 8:00 p.m.
