Next Infiniti G37 to get Styling Cues from Infiniti Essence Concept

Autocar reports that
Infiniti will steal “
sizeable” amount of styling cues for the next generation
Infiniti G37 Coupe from one of its own concept cars, the
Infiniti Essence concept, that was revealed during the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
The Essence concept has a vastly more aggressive and stylish look when compared to the current generation of
Infiniti vehicles, and hence even small design features like the concept’s prominent wheel arches and crisp lines would make the G37 Coupe stand a notch above the rest of the
Infinti lineup.
The Essence concept was powered by a
twin-turbo 3.7L V6 engine that came mated to an electric motor to generate a combined power output of 590 hp. Though we don’t expect the G37 to come with that kind of power under the hood, we figure it wouldn’t be too wayward to expect the
next-gen G37 to come with a hybrid
powertrain. Autocar
suggests that it will come with a 3.5L V6 engine and a lithium-ion battery that generates a combined 360 hp.
